Travelling along the East Coast
Who would have thought it?! I never intended to visit the fifth continent on this trip and now I am here. I had two choices: Either to go back to Germany to find work or to go to Australia on a working holiday visa to get some more cash to finance my travelling. As you can imagine it was quite easy to make this decision. I arrived together with my parents in Sydney late May 2006. Whilst my parents flew into the outback to discover famous Ayers Rock did I set myself up in Sydney and started with looking for work and looking for recruitment companies who help me to find work. I met my parents a week after they left in Townsville at the East Coast again and together we travelled down south. We rented a car and stopped in Airlie Beach to visit the Whitsunday Island with Whitehaven Beach, went to Great Keppel Island which is not that famous and therefore not crowded, took an overnight trip to Fraser Island – the world’s biggest sand island and finished off at the Gold Coast. While my parents were flying back to Sydney and further to Germany did I spend some more days in Byron Bay getting mentally ready to enter the working life again.
